Air compressors can be classified by movement mode, lubrication mode and frequency conversion mode.

Classification of air compressors by movement mode:
1. Screw air compressor: air is compressed by a pair of intermeshing screws rotating in the rotor cavity. Due to its smooth operation, high efficiency and low noise, it is the most widely used type of air compressor in industrial applications.

2. Scroll air compressor: air is compressed by the intermeshing of scroll-shaped stators and movers. Mainly used in laboratories.

3. Piston air compressor: air is compressed by the reciprocating motion of the piston in the cylinder. This type of air compressor has a simple structure and is suitable for small and medium air volume occasions.

4. Vane air compressor: air is compressed by the sliding of the vane in the rotor slot.

Classification of air compressors by lubrication mode:
1. Oil-free screw air compressor: no lubricating oil is used during the compression process to ensure that the output air is oil-free and pollution-free. Applicable to industries with high requirements for air quality such as food and medicine

2. Oil-injected air compressor: Lubricating oil is used during the compression process, with low unit price and simple maintenance, but the output air will contain oil.

Classification of air compressors by frequency conversion
1. Variable frequency air compressor: Variable frequency air compressor adjusts the speed of the compressor by controlling the frequency of the input voltage. Good energy saving and stable operation.

2. Fixed speed air compressor: Fixed frequency air compressor runs at a fixed speed and cannot be adjusted according to load changes. The structure is relatively simple, but the use scenarios are limited.
